In 2005, I think I got my heart broken more than ever (even though I didn’t have one boyfriend), and I spent the majority of the year hating anything and everything with testicles.

ASIDE from that, though, 2005 was incredible. I mean, I got suspended from school. I got in a war with silly string and cascarones with my two favorite bands (The Academy Is… and Fall Out Boy) while in Texas with Phoebe, one of my absolute favorite people. And also in that weekend, I became a member of the best organization ever, die Kreepikinder (we can be creepy, tra la la) AND was rescued by Patrick Carrie from the evil Brian, or whatever his name was. I made approximately seven million new friends all over the place. I spent approximately seven million minutes with my best friend for LIFE Ryann. I went to Denny’s with Cute Is What We Aim For, Rookie Of The Year, and David Melillo and was almost killed by fireworks shot by the guys in Rookie. I spent too much money. I went on a mini road trip with my mom to see The Academy in Toledo and Columbus. (I saw TAI six times this year.) I turned 18 and got a tattoo. I had the most amazing birthday party ever. I started trying to learn German. I liked another 14-year-old. I went to Lexington approximately seven million times. I figured out what I want to do with my life. I went to Chicago. I went to more shows than ever. I could go on and on and on and on about the good things that happened in 2005...

…but I think I’ll stop there.

And here it is, My Top 25 Albums of 2005.Collapse )

Here's to 2006 being even more full of music, adventure, fun, and looooooove.

Melee: I-Cron v2.0
The show last night was faaaabulous, of course.

I went by myself, but I made a friend almost instantly while waiting in line. We ended up hanging out for the whole show. Her name was Chelsey. Anna and Daniel were also there. Rick and Mike came out while I was in line and I talked to them for a bit. Rick remembered me and hugged me 8 bazillion times. A little bit later Hayley and Zac came out and Hayley and I had a conversation from afar.

Paramore was amazing, duh. I sang all the words and got smiles from the stage from Hayley and danced a bit. They played "My Heart" and it was beautiful. After the show I talked to Hayley and Josh for a while about lots of things including how awesome Fueled By Ramen is and how they couldn't go to Canada. I also talked to Jason for a little bit. Even though Warped was only a week ago, it's always nice being remembered. I feel like more than just a "OMG I LOVE YOU CAN I GET A PICTURE WITH YOU?!?!?!" kind of fan.

Dropping Daylight - There's piano rock like Something Corporate, and there's piano rock like Melee. And then there's Dropping Daylight, who are piano ROCK. I only knew one of the songs but they were fun anyway.

The Working Title was better than I expected them to be. The singer reminds me A LOT of Aaron Weiss from mewithoutYou. Maybe a little less bizarre, but he does act like him, and kind of looks like him too. I didn't meet any of them but I did buy a shirt. And it's white. I haven't worn a white shirt in approximately 4 years. I'm excited about it.

Melee was, of course, pretty much the best thing ever. I sang my little heart out and got sang to and smiled at. They started playing "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John in the middle of "Lion's Cage." Hahaha. asfkj I love those boys so much. A Melee show is always a good time. They have so much energy. Yeah. I love that band more than life itself. And Rick is my favorite person to take pictures of.

After them I got out of the front and talked to the boys and bought merch, etc, etc. I got another Melee shirt. I couldn't resist. More Rick hugs. Giggly moments with Rick and Chris. Even more Rick hugs. "FRIENDS!" Ryan is so nice and I love him. "People are always like, 'What are you, 30?!'" I left before Lucky Boys which sucked because I wanted more Melee hang time, but if I hadn't offered to leave before the show was even over, I probably wouldn't have even been able to go. I could go on about more fabulous Melee moments, but I'm lazy.

Lovelovelovelovelove. Rick has a bunny on his shirt.

Oh, and did I mention that Melee might play at my birthday party??? I discussed it with Chris & Rick. They totally want to and they're going to try. I have to e-mail Chris with all the details. alsjkkadfja. (Guad - this means we have to start planning hardcore now!)

This entry is 8 million times longer than I intended.

I'm sorry if these are huge. They took almost two hours to scan and upload, and I'm not even done, so I didn't resize them. All my pictures were really awesome and clear, but my scanner ruinnnnnned them. :(

The Academy pictures are coming. Eventually.

Tonight was somewhat interesting. I drove to Lexington to go to Best Buy and picked up the new Spitalfield and Copeland CDs which came out today. Both are fantastic, by the way. There are no words to describe the beauty of Copeland or the fabulosity (that is my favorite made-up word) of Spitalfield. On my Spitalfield CD #s 3 and 4 are the same song. Interesting.

When I parked at Best Buy I almost got attacked by birds. There was a massive mob of birds flying over me and I was almost afraid to get out of the car, haha. After I left Best Buy I was on my way to CD Central but part of the road was blocked off and police cars were everywhere so I was forced to turn on a strange street on the UK campus. I had no idea where I was so I called Mom and she directed me to CD Central. When I finally arrived at CD Central, I walked in and the place was packed with indie college kids. As soon as I opened the door people were like "COME ON IN!!" and I just stood there like "..." There was an instore there that I had no idea about, and unfortunately I got there right when it ended. I found my MySpace friend John who I met at the Murder By Death show which was extremely random but awesome at the same time.

I bought The Laptop EP by MC Lars and Another Intervention by Down To Earth Approach (Only $8!!) because they were cheap and I am an impulse buyer and don't understand the words "save your money." Then I had to get Mom to help me find my way back home because S Limestone was still overrun with police cars.

If you have dial-up, you might kill me.

ps This is a PUBLIC entry. It doesn't mean I added you back.

pps If you want to use any of them for icons or something, please ask. I hate seeing people I don't even know using my pictures.

ppps I apologize for my scanner. It does strange things to my pictures sometimes.
